Invertebrates & The Law

Some invertebrate species are protected under the Wildlife & Countryside Act (1981) and the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations (2017) as well as many species being included as Priority Species in the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. If there is habitat onsite known to favour more uncommon and rare invertebrates or if there are nearby records of significant species, further surveying may be required.
